Amanda Wakeley A/W 2011

Here are a few pictures I took outside of Somerset House in London before the Amanda Wakeley catwalk show. Harrold Thillman, chairman of the British fashion council attended Amanda Wakeley's show. Unfortunately I have not managed to take a picture.
Front row guests include Louise Redknapp and Tracy Emin.

Triumph LFW catwalk show - so exciting !

I have been to London to take pictures for you of the guests going to the Amanda Wakeley show. I saw a lot of fashionistas waiting outside of Somerset House ( pics will be online soon) or shopping the newest trends in the streets of London.

On my second day in London I had the chance to go to the LFW Triumph lingerie show. My friend Chloe ( http://thrillsfrillsandfondue.blogspot.com/)  won a ticket for  the show and was allowed to have guest. I was so happy  and excited when she announced me the good news. So Chloe, her mum and myself made our way to Northumberland house.

We saw beautiful lingerie on the catwalk. Got goodie bags with Style magazine and Retro sensation body dress.  The lingerie was stunning, so were the models. Felder& Felder have designed a few pieces as an extension to their collection. At the end of the show we were lucky enough to meet Felder& Felder, the German design duo to take a picture. You can see the picture and her report at Chloe’s blog, please visit http://thrillsfrillsandfondue.blogspot.com. I am sure you will appreciate all the brand new info’s she shares about Christopher Kane.

I would like to say  : Thank you Chloe !  I had a lovely time with you and enjoyed the show.

In the Press : Amanda Wakeley A/W 2011 show

This sophisticated collection was filled with skinny silhouettes, piles of fur and a dash of sparkle… This collection was Wakeley at her polished best” – WWD

“White and black cocktail dresses substituted by flashes of orange, sophisticated and meticulous details of beads and sequins.” – Vogue.it

“A modern edge was added by way of bound leather waistbands above full black skirts and one orange dress with a studded, drawstring neckline and a heavily gold embellished midriff that became a smattering of sequins above and below the waist was a powerfully sexy moment, while dark gold chain mail decoration gave a less powerful and more sultry feel to evening wear”- Vogue.uk

“Well structured, very feminine, appealing to chic without losing the wearable and practical. Über sexy !!! “ – Wearable Trends

“…the overall feel of the Amanda Wakeley collection was clear – luxe, power-dressing for the no-fuss female.” “The Amanda Wakeley autumn/winter 2011 collection is for the fiercest woman who knows what she wants and when she wants it. Glossy and groomed to perfection, this is the sort of women we all, at some point, wish we could be.” – myfashionlife.com

I love the red lipstick.

The colour palette of the A/W 2011 collection went from black, brown, beige, and camel, white over to flashy orange. The clothes are worn very tightly to the body.  The designs were very sculptural almost architectural, strong clear lines embellished with big leather belts. Highlights of the collection were the jet beading on cocktail dresses and on a black jacket. It is a wearable collection.
Amanda Wakeley definitely knows how to dress the modern women, she is the right person to design work wear and stunning eveningwear. I would describe it in three words effortless sexy and glamourous.

Amanda  said about the collection:

‘’This season is more about a feeling… how women want to feel in their clothes now…wrapped, draped, supported in cocooning shapes…being able to dress with ease and feel luxurious.  These are investment pieces that will stand the test of time”
