Coco & Igor

I bet a lot of you have seen the Coco Chanel movie with Audrey Tatou playing the iconic designer. I know lots of my friends loved it, I was the only one saying I felt it was not so good. To be honest, I was completely disappointed by the whole storyline and the incorporation of Audrey playing Gabrielle Chanel...

I was glad when I found in the local library the film  Coco Chanel & Igor Stravinsky. I felt in love with the movie. This is much more how imagine Coco Chanel's character.  Her passion and the revolution she did in fashion comes clearly out of it, Anna Mouglagis represents an independent ambitious woman falling in love with a musician who aims for a radical change in music. The story is not only about love but also about the birth of Chanel N° 5. I enjoyed the music, how the camera captures the characters and the light used to create a special atmosphere. I would really recommend you this film if you like movie with a dramatic touch and lots of emotions. It is worth watching only for the splendid interior decor used in Chanel's countryside villa and for the love of details used  in the costumes.  Paris in 1920 is just a golden age...

Have a great day.

% Sales List %

As I said in my former posts , I have not enough space and too much clothes that I am not wearing, therefore I allowed myself only to refresh the basics which were completely worn out and beauty products which will be ending the next few weeks. Sales are only worth if you are stress resistant and under the first to enter the shops on the first day. The first customers get the good deals, especially when it comes to shoes. I mean I have the standard size 39, which is always sold out ! This year I was really lucky as I decidced to go to France where sales start 2 days ahead.... obviously I was not the only person with that idea in mind. Lucky me again, I found a parking outside of the 2 hours queue for the park house.

Here is a selection what had to be renewed in the basics of a my dressing.

- a basic black top - found in Zara

-  black jumper  from American Vintage

- 2 pairs of flat ankle boots ( dark brown and black ) they have a nice cut and can be worn with skirts, dresses and jeans, they are just perfect and I have been looking for them for 18 months now.

What I still need to find :

- a pair of simple sandales
- a leather belt

I allowed myself 2 extra pieces for the pleasure of hunting

- The zara skirt

- Zara ballerinas

Beauty Products from Body shop - mainly to fill up my stock

What was on your list ? Are you becoming a crazy shopper when the sales start ? How do you manage to resist the temptation of the % sign ?

Rockafield

Rockafield festival was very nice, we had the perfect sunny weather for a music festival. A mix of luxembourgish and international bands. I am unable to upload the video of Arcade Fire at the moment, stay tuned! Arcade Fire did an amazing show. Followed by Elbow, playing in the early evening. I did not now them before but I have to say lovely music to listen to. The headliner were Arctic Monkeys. Hope you had a nice weekend. The start into the early Monday morning was not so fun...Any plans for festivals over the Summer ?

Junebug

Never ever sales on a Saturday again... to relax a bit, I had a nice movie night with the film Junebug. It is the winner of Sundance film festival. If you are not into Indie cinema, it is not for you. The story is about : A dealer in "outsider" art travels from Chicago to North Carolina to meet her new in-laws, challenging the equilibrium of this middle class Southern home.(IMDB) Urban  crashes the North Carolina country side. It is funny and sad at the same time.

Just a quick post today, as I am heading to Rockafield festival to see Arcade fire among other bands. Stay tuned for more about the festival. Have a nice sunny Sunday !

There it is, the crème de rose de Dior. After waiting for some weeks for the release in Luxembourg, I found it finally on a travel to France. I love it, the crème the rose de Dior is a smoothing  plumping lip balm. The smell and taste of it, brings good old memories about holidays back. The package design is so cute.   Has anyone of you tested  the crème d'abricot for the nails  yet ?

Have a nice Saturday evening!

Undress Like a Princesse (Tam-Tam)

Yesterday I drove to Metz  for the sales.  After my wardrobe clear out, I wrote a list of what I really need to refresh in my  wardrobe. However for the pleasure of shopping I allowed myself 4 extra pieces, will show them very soon. So far I sticked to it, but I have to say temptation was really big while being in the Princesse Tam Tam  and the Orcanta shop. France is just a paradise when it comes to lingerie and shoes. Here is a preview of the A/W 2012 Princesse Tam Tam collection " Undress like a princess", I cannot wait till it is in stores.

Have a nice day guys !

Jusqu'à toi

I saw an entertaining movie today, which I would like to present to you. It is not a  mainstream movie, if you are more into that, I suggest you forget about all the movies I write about.  I am looking for visually stimulating images and stories which you keep on thinking about for some hours. Open ends...  just perfect! Well of course you never no if the story is simple or worth it while watching the trailer.

I have to say even that the story of " Jusqu'à toi " is stereotypical, I loved it a lot for how the camera captures the images, the simplicity of Melanie Laurent, the idea of the film and of course the emotions. I guess it is a typical sentimental comedie, I tapped into.

The story of " Jusqu'à toi " is about Chloe who picked up by coincidence Jack's suitcase.  Jack is a young  American guy visiting Paris after being dumbed by his girlfriend. Chloe falls in love with Jack by discovering the content of the suitcase. After reflection, she decides, to take pictures of her everyday life and people she is surrounded by. She puts them into the suitcase and gives it back to the hotel Jack is living in.

Can we really know a person through a suitcase content ?
Let me know what your opinion is.

Well, have a look and decide for yourself...

How to optimize your wardrobe ?

Add caption
I wish I would have such a perfect dressing. Whenever I buy a bigger wardrobe, there is still not enough space storage... i have already put 1/3 of the clothes at the boyfriend's place.  I think it is either time for sales shopping at Ikea or a wardrobe clear out. I will be having friends  over summer at my place so I better find a solution for all my clothes before they sleep between all the clothes on my bed  : ) I think there is no way around a wardrobe clear out. It is my typical start of summer. Get rid of the old and look for new stuff to decorate the walls and floors of your too small room. As I have a lot of shoes , acessories and clothes which have been worn only once, I will set of a  page for the clear out on the blog. Especially with the sales starting on Wednesday I should make place for new stuff and be aware of what I need to buy and what kind of treasuries sleep  in my ward robe.  Feedback welcome for optimizing space in wardrobe.

Have a nice day !
